Secretary

Deb Angstadt email

I attended the very first meeting of the York Ski Club on September 22, 1975 held at San Carlos Restaurant. I started skiing in 1972 at Ski Roundtop with family, but after joining the Club I was skiing with my new found "family" everywhere. That is what belonging to a ski club means, never running out of people to share experiences with. I have held every Board position expect Treasurer and was newsletter editor for over 28 years. What has been most rewarding was the opportunity to work with the Special Olympics skiing program. I have been coordinating the York County Special Olympic ski program with the YSC volunteers since 1986. Watching the athletes learn to ski, gain confidence zooming down the slopes, and the joy it brought to the athlete's parents has done as much for me as I think it has done for them.

Treasurer

Mary Amsbaugh email

Born in Pittsburgh, PA; Joined the YSC in 1975; been skiing 37+ years; Offices held-President, Vice President and Treasurer; Craziest thing I've ever done-hang gliding on skis in Courchevel, French Alps; Favorite Ski Hill- Okemo (East) and Big Sky (West); Other interests include-traveling, reading and gardening.

Immediate Past President

Rick Resh email

Born and raised in Hanover, PA., young Rick was a beach bum and got very depressed during the winter months. Hal Berger, a former member of the York Ski Club, and a beach volleyball partner in the 80's, encouraged Rick to join the Club. He started skiing when he was in his early forties, and made numerous east coast trips with Dave Fuhrman and Shawn McEachern. Tim Rodencal and Mark Bruzzi got him hooked on Western trips. Eventually Rick got them all to join the York Ski Club. He's been the club president 3 times. Hobbies include: mountain biking, volleyball, wallyball, wining and country dancing. His most amazing success was winning the novice division State Wallyball Championship (4 persons) and then repeated in the open division the following year (three persons). His favorite ski destination is Fernie, BC. If I could invite any famous person to dinner it would be "King Arthur or Merlin, but since they are not alive or dead, it would be Ray Davies. I would ask him to explain his inspirations and the hidden meanings in all those Kinks' songs. I am still hooked on the British invasion and the music from the 1960's."

So if Steven Spielberg happens to be reading the YSC web site, when will there be a follow-up to E.T?
