The club started in York, Pennsylvania in 1975 as a group of winter sports enthusiasts looking for a way to bring people together to engage in outdoor activities. Since then, we've evolved into a Club for all seasons. Lower cost adventure trips are just part of the picture at this Central Pennsylvania Ski Club. Our members enjoy snowboarding, biking, hiking, skiing, paddling, and more. Social gatherings include checking out the local establishments for great food, microbrews, and wine. Regular meetings are held monthly between September and March, and Social gatherings are held during the remaining months of the year, (and sometimes in between), as deemed necessary. Learn more about us here.
At the York Ski Club, camaraderie is more important than ability. All ages and levels of expertise are welcome to join in on the fun. Our ski trips are designed to accommodate beginning skiers and snowboarders, as well as the more experienced and expert among us. After the slopes close for the day, the fun continues. Members join together to eat, drink and tell stories of their earlier antics. It's not all about Alpine adventures either. Nordic Skiing and Snowshoeing are popular on some of our ski trips. There are also plenty of activities to interest non-skiers and boarders. Some of these include Shopping, Snowmobiling, Zip-lining, Dog sledding, Sleigh-riding and Tubing. Each destination has its own unique charms that attract skiers and non-skiers alike.
The York Ski Club has been participating in The York County Special Olympics Ski Program since 1986. Volunteers gather on Thursday evenings at Ski Roundtop during the ski season, to help teach future Special Olympians how to ski and improve their skills. The members involved agree that it is a rewarding way to give back to our community.
The York Ski Club belongs to the Eastern Pennsylvania Ski Council, a not for profit organization with 36 member clubs representing over 10,000 skiers and snowboarders. This allows us to expand our trip offering to include all of EPSC's outings, and interact with folks from other member clubs in the Pennsylvania, Delaware and New Jersey areas.
Become a member of our York, Pennsylvania Ski Club to start enjoying the camaraderie, great prices on trips, discounts on gear and goods, lift tickets, passes, and more. Our monthly e-newsletter alerts members to current events, upcoming trips, social gatherings, and other information pertinent to outdoor-loving, socially-minded people.
Please join us at our next meeting or social gathering, introduce yourself, and start taking advantage of everything the York Ski Club has to offer. Everyone is welcome. We look forward to seeing you.
